Shops reopen after scaffold fall

Shops which had to close after scaffolding collapsed in the pedestrian area of Swindon's town centre have reopened. The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) is investigating the incident.

One dead after falling from crane in Orissa

A contractual worker was killed and another injured while working at a private steel plant in Kalinga Nagar industrial complex in Jajpur, India. Dillip Kumar Gour (30) died after falling from a height of 50 feet.

Man injured falling from crane ladder

A man who fell from a crane’s ladder in Malta yesterday afternoon had to be hospitalised. Investigations are ongoing.

MAIB rules on tug’s sinking at harbour

The Marine Accident Investigation Branch (MAIB) determined that Peterhead Port Authority's towing procedures were not followed, with the consequence that a specific risk assessment for the barge's arrival was not carried out. A new towing endorsement qualification for tug crews is being developed by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency and the British Tugowners Association.
